Remove the existing shower head from the shower arm.
Screw the hose bracket onto the shower arm.
Remove the paper seal from the end of the filter handle.
Insert the two rubber washers into the couplers at each end of the hose.
Attach one end of the hose to the bracket and the other end to the filter handle.
Place the filter handle into the bracket.
Rinse by running hot water through the filter for five minutes after installation.
Turn the shower water on to the full hot position.
After hot water is flowing through the filter, cool to the desired temperature.
Back-flush monthly or as needed by reversing the direction of the cartridge in the handle.
The filter cartridge should be replaced every six months, or sooner if individual conditions warrant. (Consider the chlorine content of the water and the amount of usage.)
Remove the old cartridge by unscrewing the head of the filter from the handle. After the head is off, remove the old cartridge from the handle. (The cartridge is replaced from the "top end" of the handle, where it joins the shower head, not the bottom end where it connects to the hose.) If it's hard to release, use a grasping tool like pliers.
Remove the paper seals from each ends of the new cartridge.
Lubricate the o-rings with a small amount of Vaseline or silicon lubricant.
Insert the cartridge into the handle and screw into the showerhead.
Flush for five minutes before using.
