This is an easy installation, completely color coded. These instructions describe connection of the unit to the permeate pump only. Refer to standard instruction sheet for installation of faucet, inlet valve, drain saddle, etc.
Note: The instructions below pertain to installation on one of our new, Black & White reverse osmosis units that has been set up to operate with permeate pump. It is possible to retrofit existing units for use with the pump, but some special instructions are needed.
Start by mounting the permeate pump to a wall near the main body of the unit. Be sure to observe the up/down arrows on the pump.
When the pump is securely mounted and the unit is in place, make the connections indicated on the color coded installation. Use plug-in-elbows provided if an elbow fitting is needed. Plug the tube directly into the pump if a straight fitting is needed.
Here is a summary of the connections:
Yellow Tube: connects the Brine Out port of the permeate pump to the drain saddle.
Black Tube: Connects the Brine Port of the RO membrane to Brine In port of the permeate pump.
Orange Tube: Connects the unit's auto shutoff valve to the Permeate Out port of the permeate pump.
White Tube: Connects the permeate port of the reverse osmosis membrane to the Permeate In port of the permeate pump.
No special instructions are needed for startup and operation of the pump. Just follow instructions for regular reverse osmosis startup and the pump will take care of itself. It is important that the pump remain at all times in the position shown for proper operation.
The pump will make an intermittent thumping sound when it operates. This is normal. No priming or special treatment is needed. Just plug it in and let it go to work.
